Brief History

N7UIC.COM started out as N7UIC.NET but due to reasons beyond my control the domain name had expired as my registrar was missing in action. The site started out running on a friends server as we figured out virtual domain hosting on a Debian. From there it moved to my own box for a few years and then back to his as he had some a nice colocation spot. As that colocation disappeared it came back to my house where it currently resides. The site was running on a modified XBOX running Debian. This xbox also handled email, a ventrillo server, voice conference for my internet repeater linking, and database backend for this website. It was given to me without a hard drive and was sitting in my office for quite a while. I needed a small compact box that could easily be moved if needed and the xbox fit the bill. Unfortunately it doesn't turn on when the power goes out, or the kids take the power cord for their XBOX. Now the site is on an old AMD Duron 1200 box with a gig of RAM. Way more than it needs but a lot more reliable.
